Designing sites for humans and AI
People now meet you through an AI answer before they ever reach your site. Here's how I design for both.
More and more, the first "visit" to a website is an AI model reading it on someone's behalf. That changes what a good site looks like.
Say who you are, plainly
Structured data, a clear bio and consistent names across every profile help search engines and AI answer engines resolve you as one entity.
Keep the facts in one place
This site keeps its facts in a single file that feeds the page, the structured data and the Ask AI button. One source of truth means no contradictions.
Still design for people
None of this replaces a clear, fast page that a human enjoys. The machine-readable layer sits underneath – it should never be what visitors see.
